Abstract:

Now-a-days disability is a burning issue in the society. Children with disability (CWD) are the most vulnerable and underprivileged section of the population. The main objective of the study is to explore the attitude of the people towards CWD. The study is conducted on the basis of qualitative method. Both in-depth qualitative interviews and FGDs are arranged to collect authentic data. Ten children with disability and their parents are purposively selected for individual interviews. In addition, two FGDs are arranged, one with parents and relatives of disabled children and the other with the service providers. Researcher visits disabled children’s house many times to collect and justify data appropriately.

However, the study reveals that Life is much difficult for the CWD both rich and poor family. The study indicates that CWD can’t able to lead a dignified life. The study also explores that the people of society do not recognize the needs of disabled children and their attitude towards CWD are not supportive at all. Most of the disabled children, their parents and service providers recommend that education can improve the life of CWD. Disabled children and their parents want to get more material and immaterial support from GO and NGO. The study also suggests that government should be taken initiatives in favor of disabled children.
