Abstract:

The main purpose of the present study was to construct and standardize a tool for measuring Attitude towards Science of Higher Secondary School students. The scale was constructed by making use of Likert’s method to get a five point rating on each item. Total 51 statements were selected for the pilot study. A pilot study was conducted on a random sample of 400 students of eleventh standard. After item analysis 30 statements with significant t-value and high correlation were selected for the final study. A split-half reliability coefficient of 0.80 was found for the entire group of 1588 respondents. The newly constructed scale has face validity and content validity too. The paper details out the procedure of development and standardization of this Science Attitude Scale.
