Abstract:

“Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skilful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.”

William A. Foster

Education is a powerful tool and fundamental force in the life of man. It plays an instructional role in shaping the destiny of the individuals and the future of mankind. The quality of education is a direct consequence and outcome of the quality of teachers and teacher education system. The task of bringing qualitative change in institutional efficiency of the teacher education system in itself is a huge and challenging one. At Anand College of Education, Anand, an attempt has been made to assess the nature of student-teacher communications, which bear on learning outcomes. The conclusions of this study help understand students' evaluation of B.Ed. programme and their teachers.

Student attendance in various classes, and student evaluations of instructors, conduct of the class, about the syllabus, assignments, teaching-learning experiences, and use of teaching aids were measured and assessed, respectively. 100 student teachers filled up the questionnaires after the course results were declared.  The paper discusses implications of this finding for teaching and learning outcomes.
