Effectiveness of Inquiry Training Model in the Teaching of the Subject Social Science

Teaching a subject like social science needs special teaching method. Therefore there is a need to study the effectiveness of the teaching method in social science. This study is based on effectiveness of Inquiry Training Model in the teaching of the Subject social science. For this study a sample of 156 students were drawn from std 8th class from rural and urban area of Ankleshwar and labeled as experimental group and controlled group. First of all intelligence test was taken, then Inqiury Training Models were prepared and implemented after pre-testing on experimental group.

The present study aims to investigate the effectiveness of Concept Attainment Model on the achievement of students in science  at 5th class. For this purpose a sample of 173 students were drawn from std 5th class from rural and urban area of Ankleshwar and labeled as experimental group and controlled group. First of all intelligence test was taken, then Concept Attainment Models were prepared and implemented after pre-testing on experimental group. Controlled group was taught by traditional method.

A COMPARISION OF STUDENTS’ AND TEACHERS’ VIEWS ABOUT MATHEMATICS TEXTBOOK OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS OF UGANDA

The aim of this study is to compare students’ and teachers’ views about a mathematics textbook of secondary schools of Uganda. Data was collected through a questionnaire which was developed through literature review and composed of six characteristics: layout and design; learning activities, clarity of instruction; graphics and language; utilization of authentic assessment; and incorporation of technology. It was administered to 470 students and 192 teachers.

Standardization of Achievement Test in Gujarati Language for Secondary School Students in context to some Selected Variables

Mother tongue has an important place in human life. One’s mother tongue contributes a lot in thinking habits, learning of subjects and imagination etc. to any person. Students have to attain knowledge of different subjects by the medium of their mother tongue. Vernacular language has remained in root of any other language which is to be learnt, so evaluation of knowledge of mother tongue by using tests is of equal importance. Present research had been aimed at construction and standardization of the Achievement Test of Gujarati language for standard IX.

A STUDY OF THE ATTITUDE OF TEACHER TRAINEES TOWARDS MODERNIZATION

The present study was conducted to investigate the attitude of teacher trainees towards modernization of teacher trainees . A sample of 99 teacher trainees was selected from Bavisgam B.Ed. College of Anand district using cluster sampling method. Among them 37 were boys and 62 girls were selected. The researcher has used MAI (Modernization Attitude Inventory) developed by Dr. M.T. Patel under a project of UGC. It is a 91 item Likert instrument consisting of eight sub scales. The data were analyzed using t-test.
