THREAT OF STRESS - STUDY OF FINANCIAL SECTOR EMPLOYEES
Stress in the work place has become an inevitable part of life in recent times. Organizational stress originates in organizational demands experienced by the individual. Although, it does have galvanizing effects to some extent making the life more challenging and charming; beyond a certain level, it leads to disturbances in personal as well as professional life. Organizations interested in building high performing culture need to examine the Organization Role Stress (ORS) patterns among their live wires – the employees; and come out with the remedial measures. The present Empirical Paper, utilizing the published theoretical literature and Communication Approach of the Cross-sectional Descriptive research design, examines the relation between the Organization Role Stress (ORS) and demographics among the Financial Sector Employees. Data collected from 100 respondents, using the ORS scale developed by Udai Pareek, highlight that there is high stress level among the employees and Inter Role Distance is the dominant role stressor. The role ambiguity, role stagnation and role expectation conflict seem to be at a very low level. The demographic variables like age, qualification and experience are found to be closely associated with the ORS.
