EFFECTS OF PICTURES IN TEXTBOOKS ON STUDENTS’ CREATIVITY

One essential key element of the curriculum is the textbook which provides a clear structure for teachers and students. This paper is study based on the literature and previous research papers to explain the importance of textbooks as well as effect of pictures in the textbooks on student’s creativity. Images in the textbooks influence the learning process. Students often see pictures before reading the text and these pictures can enhance the power of imagination of the students. The findings of this study show that the pictures in textbooks can increase students’ creativity.

VALUE EDUCATION – NEED OF THE MODERN TIME

Today’s modern time is the time of globalization. Aptitude of our youth is toward western life -style and culture is natural. This aptitude is not only limited to youth, almost everybody in country is running a blind race of cut throat competition to accumulate more money and things of leisure and pleasure. In recent years increase in percentage of crimes committed by youth especially adolescents has created a line of concern on the face of parents. Root cause of the problem lies in the quality of education we are providing to our child.

A STUDY OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE OF HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN RELATION TO CERTAIN VARIABLES

The present study was conducted to investigate the emotional intelligence of higher secondary school students of Anand district. A sample of 820 participants was selected from secondary school of Anand district using stratified random sampling method. Among them 471 were boys and 349 girls were selected. Emotional Intelligence scale constructed and standardized by Dr. Pallaviben Patel and Dr. Hiteshbhai Patel was used to measure Emotional intelligence of the students. The data were analyzed using t-test. The urban students were having high emotional intelligence than the rural students.

PEOPLE’S ATTITUDE TOWARDS CHILDREN WITH DISABILITY: A STUDY IN SYLHET CITY

Now-a-days disability is a burning issue in the society. Children with disability (CWD) are the most vulnerable and underprivileged section of the population. The main objective of the study is to explore the attitude of the people towards CWD. The study is conducted on the basis of qualitative method. Both in-depth qualitative interviews and FGDs are arranged to collect authentic data. Ten children with disability and their parents are purposively selected for individual interviews.
