EVOLVING A STRATEGY OF MULTIMEDIA PACKAGE ON 'NATURAL RESOURCES' IN GEOGRAPHY FOR IX STANDARD STUDENTS
Education is a whole new world of learning in the 21st century where science and technology is on the fast development resulting in new knowledge, skills and attitudes. As such, we need to integrate the use of modern science and technology in teaching and learning in order to effectively transfer knowledge for transformation.
This experimental study is of a two-fold study where, as a first step aimed at evolvement of Multimedia package, and as a second step aimed at evaluation of the evolved Multimedia package by a tryout, along with examining the efficacy of Multimedia package over the Traditional method of teaching, and measuring the opinion of the students who were in the experimental group of schools towards Multimedia package as a new teaching methodology. Data collected through Criterion tests and Opinionnaires were statistically analyzed. The results of the study show that the Multimedia package is significantly superior to Traditional Method of teaching. Majority of the students agree that learning through Multimedia package is effective. The findings of this study calls for educational planners, policy makers, teachers and researchers to look into the importance of integration of Multimedia package in teaching and learning.
