Abstract: 

Background: - Job satisfaction is a complex function of a number of  variables. A person may be satisfied with one or more aspects of his/her job but at the same time may be unhappy with other things related to the job. Objectives: - The aim of the study was to find out the determinants of job satisfaction of physical therapist and to clarify that the professional specific scale which is used (speak man scale) is predicting the same which the general job satisfaction questionnaire measures. Materials and Method: - Study included 166 subjects 64 males and 112 females who are working physiotherapy professionals. The speak man scale and general job satisfaction questionnaire were used to collect the data along with the necessary personal and demographical data.   In data Analysis descriptive statistics, logistic regression ,discriminant analysis and correlation were done using SPSS v. 15  Results: - Age, experience more than two years contributed negatively and own clinic holders contributed positively to job satisfaction. The most powerful explanatory items of speakman scale were stressful and over worked   and the weak determinants are challenging, interesting, fulfilling and independence items. It shows that the negative items determine satisfaction more than positive items. Conclusion: - The job satisfaction of the participants was mainly influenced by stress and over work in field of physiotherapy and the positive sides of the physiotherapy practice characteristics have very less contribution to job satisfaction.
