TEACHING THROUGH SYNECTICS: PAVING WAY TO INNOVATIVE PRACTICES

William J. J. Gordon and his associates designed Synectics, an interesting approach to the development of creativity. Analogies are the chief element of Synectics. In Synectics exercises students ‘play’ with analogies until they relax and begin to enjoy making more and more metaphoric comparisons. Then they use analogies to attack problems or ideas. It is designed to lead students into slightly illogical world to give us the opportunity to invent new ways of seeing things, expressing ourselves and approaching problems. There are two strategies based on Synectics procedure.

ATTITUDES OF STUDENTS TOWARDS LEARNING NATURAL SCIENCE SUBJECTS IN ETHIOPIA PRIMARY SCHOOLS

This study examines attitudes to school science classes amongst primary school students based on the assumption that these will influence their attitudes and choices later in life. 980 primary school students in grades 4-6 were given a Likert-type questionnaire and asked to provide verbal explanations for their agreement/disagreement with each item.

DEVELOPMENT OF CAI PACKAGE AND ITS EFFECTIVENESS ON GEOMETRY TEACHING AMONG HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

The present study concentrates on the effectiveness of cai package on teaching geometry among high school students. The main objective of the study is to find out the effectiveness of cai  package on geometry teaching among standard ix students. It was proved using Pretest-posttest Equivalent group design – an experiment study. The result of this study reveals that the students of the experimental group show greater achievement not only in the gain scores but also in the attainment of knowledge, understanding and application level.

AN EXPLORATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF 'COMPREHENSIONAL SKILLS' IN ENGLISH THROUGH MULTIMEDIA STRATEGY

Global trend obviously is the increasing use of modern scientific and communication technology in education. The area of curriculum construction, selection of audio-visual material, determination of educational objectives and area of feed-back will become more effective and the process will be faster too with the use of Information Technology. Nowadays, Information Technology and computers have enriched the teaching-learning process. They have a great potential for teaching at all levels. They have brought a sea change and innovativeness in teaching and learning.

STRUCTURAL CHARACTERIZATION OF COBALT DOPED TIO2 PREPARED BY SOLID STATE REACTION METHOD

Cobalt doped Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) were synthesized by a standard solid-state reaction method. The formation of the single-phase compound and its structural parameters were investigated by X-Ray diffraction (XRD) followed by refinement using Xpowder and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) techniques. A better agreement between the observed and calculated XRD patterns was obtained by performing the refinement with a structural model using the space group I 41/amd. SEM image shows a spherical uniform shape of the particles.

A STUDY OF IMPACT OF NEW EVALUATION SYSTEM ON TEACHERS WORKLOAD AND TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS

Evaluation is goal directed, and educational outcomes are judged in terms of goal attainment. Every educational Programme should aim for the all round development of the personality of the child.
