Progress of any nation depends on its education system. With education human being develop their ability as per the requirement of the time and nation. In this context teacher is a pioneer and he is the backbone of education. The quality of teacher depends upon the quality of Teacher Education. The teacher, through teacher education learns many things which they put in to practice to impart knowledge to the school children. The present paper is an attempt to point out the disparity between school education and teacher education.

Extension Work For The Development Of Teaching Profession

The teaching profession is having four components (1) Learning (2) Teaching (3) Extension and (4) Research. Out of these four, Extension work can contribute a lot for teaching and research work. It is not essential that a teacher devotes his / her time and energy for all these four. He / She can either select extension work or research work over and above learning and teaching. However extension work may help in undertaking meaningful and relevant research. Many universities have started doing this.

Standardization Of Science Attitude Scale For Higher Secondary School Students

The main purpose of the present study was to construct and standardize a tool for measuring Attitude towards Science of Higher Secondary School students. The scale was constructed by making use of Likert’s method to get a five point rating on each item. Total 51 statements were selected for the pilot study. A pilot study was conducted on a random sample of 400 students of eleventh standard. After item analysis 30 statements with significant t-value and high correlation were selected for the final study.

The objective was to review the diploma engineering faculty running with semester & credit system. For, the review 32 faculties of Government Polytechnic, Godhra were selected as a sample.

Kothari Commission begins its report with this remark ‘The destiny of India is being shaped in its classrooms’. No doubt a sound programme of education plays a significant role in nation’s development and the quality of the education programme is greatly determined by the quality of teachers. Hence, in order to improve the quality of education, it is necessary to have a sound programme of professional education of teachers. In our country we have the B.Ed programme to train secondary school teachers.
