ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF EXTRACTS FROM BARK OF AEGLE MARMELOS IN DIFFERENT SOLVENTS

Aegle marmelos is a medicinal herb belongs to the family Rutaceae, used for antimicrobial screening against selected four pathogenic microorganisms - Escherichia coli MTCC40, Salmonella typhi MTCC3216, Proteus vulgaris MTCC428 & Staphylococcus aureus MTCC3160. Bark of Aegle marmelos was extracted in ethanol and petroleum ether through cold and hot extraction method. For control petroleum ether, ethanol and Ampicilin were used.

Effect Of Industrial Waste Water On Seed Germination And Some Physiological Parameters In Crop Of Gram (Cicer Arietinum L.)

Environment has always been a great challenge to mankind as far crop production is concern. The farms which are near to the industrial area always grow under the effect of industrial waste. The use of industrial waste water for irrigation purpose has emerged an important way to utilize its nutrients and removal of its pollutant’s load. The objective of experiment was to determine how different concentrations of industrial effluents effect on Morphological & physiological parameters in Gram (Cicer arietinum L.) plants.

Morphological And Anatomical Studies Of The Seedlings Of Enicostema Axillare Lam. And Raynal

Seedling is the juvenile stage of a plant after germination. Juvenile stage differ greatly from the adult stage. Therefore, it is difficult to recognize the plants at this stage with help of existing knowledge. The word seedling is used for the stage of plants from the beginning of germination where it is up to a stage where it is 29 to 50 cm high.

IN-SILICO PROTEIN STRUCTURE PREDICTION:HOMOLOGY MODELLING-A REVIEW

Proteins are chains of amino acid joined by hydrogen bond. The linear chain forms secondary structures through hydrogen bond between amino acid in the linear chain. Through further interactions among amino acid groups the secondary structures fold to form three dimensional structures. Thus the structure of protein is largely determined by amino acid sequence. So efforts are made to predict the structure of protein.

APPRAISAL OF WATER AND SOIL QUALITY OF TAPI WITH REFERENCE TO HEAVY METAL SURAT, GUJARAT

In the present study heavy metals (Zn, Cu, Cd and Pb) were detected in water and soil taken from Tapi. Samples were collected monthly from three different stations for the periods of six months (July 2008 to Oct 2008).The present study is included the period before and after Ganpati visarjan. Heavy metals were determined using AAS according to Standard methods (APHA 2005).Concentration of heavy metals in water and soil was fluctuating with respect to temperature and pH.

Assessment Of Soil And Water Quality With Reference To Benthic Communities Of Purna, Navsari, Gujarat

The present investigation aimed to assess the benthic communities with respect to physico-chemical characteristics of water & soil in the Intertidal and fresh water region of Purna, Navsari, Gujarat. The study carried out for the period of 5 months (May-2008 to Sept-2008).The physico-chemical parameters selected for the study were soil moisture, WHC, soil nutrients, organic matter Epiflora was dominated by Diatoms. In Faunal community Polychaete worm, Nematodes, Turbellarian, Molluscans, Mud crab and Mud skipper were found.

Study On Shrimp Farming Technique In Gujarat State

Shrimp farming has been practiced in India for centuries on a traditional manner in certain coastal state. Scientific shrimp farming was developed during the early 1980s. Thousands of hectares of coastal lands were converted into shrimp farming. Shrimp farming activities in Gujarat state are also not uncommon at present.  Gujarat is having 1,600 km long coastline and a vast stretches of brackish water area throughout the coastline which is ideal for shrimp culture.  Shrimp farming activities developed fast in the last decade.
