EFFECTS OF PICTURES IN TEXTBOOKS ON STUDENTS’ CREATIVITY

One essential key element of the curriculum is the textbook which provides a clear structure for teachers and students. This paper is study based on the literature and previous research papers to explain the importance of textbooks as well as effect of pictures in the textbooks on student’s creativity. Images in the textbooks influence the learning process. Students often see pictures before reading the text and these pictures can enhance the power of imagination of the students. The findings of this study show that the pictures in textbooks can increase students’ creativity.

A Study of Factors related to Stress during Teacher Training

The purpose of the present study was to identify the factors related to stress among teacher trainees. 35 teacher trainees, 35 parents of  teacher trainees’ and 16 teacher educators were involved as the respondents. The predetermined factors were physical, psychological, educational, environmental & socio cultural. The instrument used for data collection was  researcher made open ended questionnaire. The researcher used rating scale for selection of suitable/appropriate medium to alleviate stress among teacher trainees.

Emotional intelligence, personality traits as predictors of self efficacy and academic performance

The purpose of this study was to improve understanding of emotional intelligence, personality traits on self efficacy level and recent performance of physiotherapy students.  The self reported measures like trait emotional intelligence questionnaire, big five inventory-10 and academic self efficacy scale were administered to the participants who were present at the time of distribution of the questionnaires and consented. And the data was collected with the necessary personal and demographical data.

Effect Of Metacognitive Strategy On Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Method To Enhance Biology Achievement

The purpose of this study was to determine how the adoption of metacognitive strategy in jigsaw cooperative learning method and inquiry method influences students’ achievement in Biology. The study was carried out by following pre-test post-test experimental design with one control group and two experimental groups. To guide this study, four hypotheses were stated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. A total of 105 students from Municipal Higher Secondary School, Tamilnadu, India were used as sample for the study.

A Study Of Science Attitude And Academic Achievement In Chemistry Among Standard XIth Students

There have been various research studies assessing various factors that affect science achievement of students. In the present study Researcher tried to find the correlation between the Science Attitude and Academic Achievement in Chemistry for Standard XIth Students. Random sampling technique was used for selecting the sample. The total sample was that of 282 students in which 143 students were selected from Granted School and 139 students were selected from Non- granted school.

SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE OF TEACHER TRAINEES

This study was initiated to investigate the impact of spiritual intelligence on the Teacher trainees related to their gender, type of family and marital status. A sample of 33 M.Ed. teacher trainees’ was selected. A tool on Spiritual Intelligence devised by Prof. Roquiya Zainuddin and Ms. Anjum Ahmed was used for the present study. The data was analysed by using Mean, S.D. and t-test. The findings of the study revealed that there was a high Spiritual Intelligence in Teacher Trainees. There is no significant difference in the SI Scores of Male and female Teacher Trainees.

STUDY OF ADJUSTMENT OF STUDENT TEACHERS

The present study was conducted to study the adjustment of student teachers with reference to their gender, stream, educational qualification and category. A sample of 94 student teachers of Bhuj was selected by simple random sampling technique. The study revealed that the student teachers of  science faculty are better adjusted than the student teachers of arts. It is also revealed that  the student teachers from Open category are better adjusted than the student teachers of  SC and ST category.

ATTITUDES OF STUDENTS TOWARDS LEARNING NATURAL SCIENCE SUBJECTS IN ETHIOPIA PRIMARY SCHOOLS

This study examines attitudes to school science classes amongst primary school students based on the assumption that these will influence their attitudes and choices later in life. 980 primary school students in grades 4-6 were given a Likert-type questionnaire and asked to provide verbal explanations for their agreement/disagreement with each item.

DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, STRESS AND SELF ESTEEM AMONG PHYSIOTHERAPY STUDENTS AND THE RELATIONSHIP TO ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE- A CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to improve understanding of the psychological variables level on  recent performance of physiotherapy students. METHOD: The self reported measures Rosenberg self esteem scale and depression, anxiety and stress scale were used.  Data Analysis was done using SPSS v. 15. RESULT: A moderate relationship was observed between the scores of anxiety and depression, anxiety and stress(r=.45, r=.55, p<.05) of participants.

Home is the first school of an individual wherein parents play a major role.. Different psychologists have categorized the age limit of an individual stating the different stages.  The child takes admission in the school and gradually it becomes a second home. The teacher plays a role of the parents.
